When you already have a gorgeous pool, your planter beds need to keep up! Most of my client’s flat space had been used, leaving the perimeter planter beds and slope waiting for their turn to shine in this backyard bungalow. Listen to your client when they say pretty and straightforward, and go with it! In this case, the perimeter planter beds got a refresh with easy to care for succulents and shrubs with a palm or two thrown in for a tropical twist. Beach rock became the go-to groundcover, and the slope above the pool became a focal point with Golden Bamboo serving as the backdrop. This simply beautiful design shows us there is much satisfaction in keeping things uncomplicated.
